Crews responded to the 5900 block of Colby Hunt Court for a reported gas-related home explosion, according to a social media post made by the Loudoun County Career Fire Fighters association.
The initial call came in at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 before a second alarm was called.
According to officials, it is believed the fire stemmed from an outside gas leak caused by utility work.
It is unclear if there were any injuries. The house was evacuated safely.
Several lanes were closed in the area amid the ongoing investigation.
Piedmont Vista Drive was shut down between Hardwood Hill Way and Sorrell Hunt Road. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes in the area.
More information is expected to be released as crews battle the blaze.
This is a developing story.
